Terms & Conditions.

1. General Conditions
Your Approved Driving Instructor adheres to a Voluntary Code of Practice set out by the ROAD Safety Authority. The standards set out are guaranteed to be met buy your instructor. Your Instructor will be punctual, courteous, polite and tidy at all times. Your Instructor will always behave in a professional manner. Your Instructor’s vehicle used for tuition or driving tests will be well maintained, clean and tidy. Your Instructor will be compliant to COVID-19 rules and will clean the vehicle before and after driving sessions. The vehicle will also be fully insured so you can use it for tuition or a driving test and will be fitted with dual controls as part of their standard equipment. Your Instructor will never smoke in the vehicle nor will they use your lesson time for any form of personal or professional business.
ROAD Driving School does offer lessons from 1 hour up to 4 hours. Your instructor will add breaks into your lessons one hour plus for maximum benefit and to minimise fatigue.

2. Qualifications
Your Approved Driving Instructor has passed initial qualification tests and as a result your Instructor is fully qualified (Level 6 FETAC Special Purpose awards) & licensed by the Road Safety Authority (RSA) to give driving tuition.

3. Driving Licence
The learner must hold a current, valid driving licence (full or learner permit) and must be produced before their first lesson begins.

 

4. Payments
Payments can be made at the time of any booking. A payment request will be sent to you by text or email once the lesson time, date and location have been agreed between you and your instructor. Payments can also be made at the start of each lesson once agreed with your instructor. Payments are non-refundable if the lesson is cancelled by the learner or person who made the payment less than 48 hours before the lesson. All payments paid for a driving test car hire package are non-refundable if cancelled within 48 hours.

5. Lesson Postponement
The instructor cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred as a result of having to postpone any lessons, for whatever reason. Your instructor reserves the right to postpone lessons if they feel the weather or road conditions are unsuitable, dangerous or the learner is not fit to drive.

 

6. Driving Tests
If the situation arises, your lesson may be postponed to allow your instructor to accompany another learner to their driving test or if your instructor’s vehicle is required for a driving test. The learner whose lesson is postponed will be notified immediately and their lesson will be rearranged as soon as possible. Driving Test appointments must be notified to your instructor as soon as they are known as they cannot guarantee their vehicle for your test. It is your responsibility to inform your instructor with the correct time, date and location of your driving test. Any payments as a result of your error will not be refunded.

 

b) Use of the Vehicle
In the interest of your safety and public safety, your instructor reserves the right to withhold the use of their vehicle for a driving test if, in their opinion, your driving is actually or potentially dangerous.

 

c) Test Cancellation
Ten clear days’ notice of cancellation or postponement is required by the RSA. Failure to provide the required notice will result in the loss of your test fee.

8. Punctuality
Any appointment made by the learner or payer should be recorded to ensure that errors are avoided. Learners are advised to be on time for their lesson appointments. Your instructor would normally wait a maximum of 30 minutes for a 1 hour lesson, 45 minutes for lesson over 1.5 hours before the lesson would be abandoned and the lesson fee forfeited. A reciprocal waiting time may become necessary if the instructor is delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Any lesson time lost as a result of this would be made up by your instructor either at the end of the normal lesson time if possible or at a later date.

 

9. Learner Comfort and Safety
Learners are advised to wear suitable footwear and clothing which does not restrict movement. Learners must also take note of any medication they are taking that may affect their ability to drive safely and inform their instructor accordingly before taking any lesson booked.

 

10. Gift Vouchers

All Gift Vouchers are refundable within 5 years of issue date. Your instructor cannot guarantee an appointment as soon as the voucher is purchased. A valid learner permit is required to use a voucher. Voucher is only valid for locations listed on www.roaddrivingschool.ie. Cancellation policy applies to all vouchers when used for booking a lesson. Voucher valid for five years from issue date.
